Dream Toys 2017 – This Year’s Christmas Must-Haves

BY Sue Williamson

If you’ve got a child in your life, whether they’re your son, daughter, niece, nephew, cousin or offspring of a friend, you’re bound to be all too familiar with the pre-Christmas frenzy for a must-have toy. There’s no leaving Christmas shopping until 24th if you need to ensure this particular dream comes true so, if you haven’t already bagged the perfect gift, you’ll need to get on it pretty sharpish. In case you’ve missed the advertising, letters to Father Christmas, and general festive furore, here’s a rundown of 2017’s Dream Toys to get your search off to a good start.

If you need a hand locating any of the toys on the list, or a Christmas gift of any kind, just get in touch and we’ll get our Christmas Angels onto it.

2017 Dream Toys

Enchantimals Playhouse Panda Set – £32.99

If you’re not familiar with Enchantimals, they are (apparently) the cuddliest animals around, and the panda playhouse is their abode of choice this Christmas. A panda swing, cosy treehouse and even a bathroom – what more could your Enchantimals ask for?

Fingerlings – £14.99

These adorable pet monkeys never want to let your finger go, so will cling to you, reacting to any movement or sound they detect. Cute monkey noises and wiggles are your reward for adopting a Fingerling.

FurReal Roarin’ Tyler – £94.49

Who doesn’t want a pet tiger to call their own? FurReal Roarin’ Tyler lets your little one enjoy the fun side of such a pet, without any of the disadvantages or ethical issues involved in adopting a big cat. Make a noise to hear Tyler roar back, and get ready to play with your new best furry friend.

Hatchimals Surprise – £64.99

Hatchimals were hugely in demand for Christmas 2016, and history looks like repeating itself this time round. If you manage to get your hands on a Hatchimal, you’ll soon be the lucky owner of a pair of fluffy twins. Which pair will you get?

L.O.L Surprise Series 2 – £9.99

There are quite a few surprise-type toys on this year’s Dream Toys list, and here’s another. As you’d expect, you buy the L.O.L surprise, the recipient of your thoughtful gift opens it, and Christmas is saved for another year. They’re already sold out in quite a few places, so you’ll need to be quick.

Laser X 2 Player Pack £45

Two laser blasters and two receivers let two children (or adults) have a DIY laser tag experience in their very own home. The only limitation is that you need to stay within the 60 metre range, and not run of out batteries. Multiple sets mean one game can include an unlimited number of participants, but you may wish to schedule that for somewhere other than your living room.

NERF Nitro Longshot Smash – £19.99

Another potential multiplayer battle, this particular Dream Toy of 2017 has a bit of a difference. Rather than shooting each other with NERF foam bullets, you use the blaster to shoot a foam car onto ramps and obstacles to see who can manage the most impressive tricks.

Paw Patrol Sea Patroller – £55.50

One for the little ones, this Sea Patroller is the latest vehicle in the Paw Patrol range of merchandise. It includes Ryder’s ATV, flashing lights and a detachable anchor, and can hold up to two vehicles. Get ready for sea rescues ahoy!

PJ Masks Headquarters Playset – £36.99

Here’s a great opportunity to take charge of the PJ Masks Headquarters and defend all your favourite heroes from the peril of the day. Use Owlette’s red owl vision to reveal Luna Girl and her pesky moths, trap baddies in the tree snarls, and use the Spyscope as a fur ball shooter when the going gets tough.

Lego Star Wars BB-8 – £84.99

Lego and Star Wars are both pretty much guaranteed wins when it comes to choosing Dream Toys for Christmas 2017, so what could be better than combining them?

The Original Stretch Armstrong – £19.99

An oldie but a goodie, Stretch Armstrong is back for Christmas 2017 and taking his place amongst the year’s Dream Toys. The clues in the name with this one – stretch him to your heart’s content and he’ll keep springing back to normal.

Toilet Trouble – £17.99

We’re not sure toilet trouble sounds like much fun but it’s on the list, meaning children love it. Spin, flush, and hope you don’t get sprayed with water.
