Designer Wedding Show – Battersea September 2011
Kristin, one of our interns, would love to be a wedding planner and was in seventh heaven when cushion the impact was invited to attend the Designer Wedding Fayre last month. Here is her report.
Being a twenty-one year old with no sight of a wedding in the near future, or even a man for that matter, having gone to the Designer Wedding Show in Battersea has got me more excited than ever!
From the overall atmosphere, to the beautiful letter pressed invitations, to the gorgeous gowns, to the smiling brides and grooms to be, the setting was one in which you could not help but feel inspired.
The options, which can accommodate every bride’s need and want, were endless. Custom invitations on the finest stationary and most sophisticated press, to more affordable ways which mimic the exceptionally elaborate ones. Colours and styles varied from classic and traditional to innovative and modern, fitting every wedding theme.
Place settings complete with fine linens, silverware, and champagne glasses helped to make the room sparkle, as centrepieces composed a landscape amongst the room. From high arrangements to low, tasteful ones, it was easy to envisage how I would want my wedding to look.
Now to the best part… gowns, gowns, galore! Designers from Pronovias to Vera Wang, had their most spectacular, breath-taking gowns on display in the showroom. From organza to Chantilly lace, these gowns were stunning enough to make anyone’s jaw drop.
Another perk… food vendors! From cupcake, candy, and pastry vendors, I was lucky enough to have a full mouth and a happy stomach the whole time I was there. I am particularly fond of the salted caramel cupcake I indulged in baked by Peggy Porschen.
Needless to say, as I am not engaged, or anywhere near it, I got tired of saying to each vendor “no, I’m not engaged, I’m just here representing cushion the impact”. I was tempted to play the part of the blushing bride, but I was able to control myself!
It was truly an amazing sight and a glamorous experience to attend the Designer Wedding Show. It was inspirational and exciting all in one. The options, as far as planning the perfect wedding, are endless.
