This March is National Bed Month 2013
Here’s a national celebration we are sure you can all get on-board with! The National Sleep Council has been running National Bed Month since 1990 to remind the Great British Public of the importance and benefits of a good night’s sleep.
The initiative will run for the entire month of March, with The National Sleep Council releasing a guide to buying the perfect new bed and how to get a great night’s sleep. You may be a new person after reading the guides.
To get you started and ready for 1st March, here is a taster of the tips for a better night’s sleep:
- Sleep in a darkened room – this encourages the production of melatonin, which is essential for a restful and relaxing sleep.
- Put your smart-phone, tablet and other electronic devices out of reach and leave them alone until the morning. Even a dim light can significantly disrupt your body’s production of melatonin.
- Keep your bedroom clutter-free. (We can help with this – get in touch to find out how)
- Buy a new bed if you regularly wake up with aches and pains.
If a whole month of restfulness is not quite enough for you, fear not; The National Sleep Council also run National Sleep In Day on the morning of the clocks going back in Autumn (some of us have already marked the date in the diary!)
