Revisited – Taking the Stress Out of Christmas Shopping
We know plenty of you won’t want to even think about the C-word just yet, but plenty more will be planning and shopping in preparation for the big day. In case you’re starting to feel your festive anxiety levels rise, here’s a blog we wrote last year on how to keep it as stress free as possible…

With just over 30 days to go before Christmas, we’re sure that some of you are already beginning to feel the pressure. Particularly for those with children, sourcing the perfect Christmas gift can lead to many a headache, not to mention the time and money involved.
No matter who you need to buy for, Christmas generally involves fighting your way through heaving crowds and trawling from shop to shop in search of the modern-day equivalent of the Holy Grail. It doesn’t need to be quite that painful, just follow these four tips for a much more efficient, relaxing Christmas shopping experience.
Streamlining your Christmas shopping:
- Make a list, check it twice: Take a leaf from Santa’s book and make a list and check it twice. Before you attempt any actual shopping, write a list of whom you need to buy gifts for and what you plan to buy. Try writing this list a day or two in advance so you can revisit it and make any amendments or additions. Once you’ve perfected the list, plan your route around the shops. Don’t waste time or shoe leather doubling back on yourself; decide exactly where you are going and how to get there efficiently.
- Avoid busy times: If possible do your shopping during the week rather than at weekends and evenings as this will allow you to avoid the worst of the crowds and queues. Try to get your shopping done as early as possible too; nowhere will be quiet on 22nd
- Go online:The one thing less stressful than choosing shopping times where the queues are short is avoiding the queues altogether. Now that the vast majority of shops are available online, you may find you can clear most of your shopping list without even leaving the house. No crowds, no queues, no fighting over the last toy on the shelf! Online deals also mean you are likely to find those must-have items at lower prices, making it a win-win for all involved.
- Get help: Did you know we offer a range of personal shopping, gift sourcing, buying and even wrapping services? Having visitors to stay – we can declutter the room (the house?) and organise it to be cleaned and decorated before guests arrive. Relax at Christmas, we’d be delighted to take the work out of your Christmas, but you’ll need to be quick as our diaries are filling up. Christmas Angels or Santa’s Elves, we are here for you…
