Time Management Resolutions You Can Keep in 2015!
Forget the New Year’s Resolutions that you make every year and never keep (I know it’s not only me who does that).
2015 is going to be THE year you make changes that really make a difference!
With a little effort, those 1,440 minutes you get each day can go a lot further and, before you know it, your old time-wasting habits will be replaced by shiny, new time-maximising ones.
Our 2015 New Year’s Resolutions
Set priorities. Decide what is truly important to you and keep it in mind throughout 2015. Important events may pop up from month to month, so set aside some time at the end of each month to set new priorities for the next. Be honest about what you will need to give up or miss to make sure these priorities are met.
Schedule time for everything. Stop saying “I’ll do that once I finish (x)”. You will never find time to fit everything in, so schedule it. This includes setting aside time for you as well as work – exercise classes, reading more books (one of Andrea’s resolutions), seeing more films and watching the children play sports.
Train yourself not to see this as free time to be taken over by work – your “me time” and family time is equally important.
Stop saying “yes”. Susan will admit to being the type of person who volunteers for everything at the expense of her own free time and has pledged to curb this habit in 2015.
If you also tend to jump in and take on a task, offer to run an event or take charge of something nobody else is volunteering for, it’s time for you to make a change too. The schedule and priorities you set in the previous two resolutions are not to be cast aside as soon as someone else wants your time!
Review regularly. Set aside a time once a month to review your priorities and scheduling. Be honest about how effective they are. Make adjustments where needed and remember that you can do it – There Is Enough Time.
