Get on your bike… all you need to know from buying the right gear at the shop to joining the Stop SMIDSY Campaign (for the uninitiated that’s making cycling safer and hearing less of “Sorry Mate I Didn’t See You”)
In London the much publicised Barclays Cycle Hire scheme has launched for those people who wish to become members. It’s a great idea but don’t ask Andrea about it as despite registering an hour or so after the scheme opened she still hasn’t been able to use a bike because…don’t ask her. Really don’t because she’ll tell you ( if you scoll down you’ll see her blog input!)
Ready to write your magnum opus or maybe just hone your skills? How about doing it in Carcassonne, South West France at a French House Party?
DO
Sparkle in the Gem of the Middle East. Glamour rarely comes better than Dubai International Jewellery week A girl can dream can’t she?
More than just visit a Show. Why not go to a Workshop? They are an innovative way of making a theatre visit all inclusive – through games, improvisations, and scene building, participants can gain an insight into the show they are about to see and gain a fully rounded experience of the West End. So whether it’s the adult puppets of Avenue Q, releasing your inner Diva with Mama Mia or getting into the rhythm with Tap Dogs that floats your boat. Give us a call and we can check out what’s available for you. Most of the workshops are aimed at groups but Avenue Q has spaces for individuals and couples. Don’t forget we can organise hospitality at theatres, even for sold out shows and it isn’t as expensive as you think it might be.
SEE
Paris really party at the Techno Parade 2010 29 September With 20 Floats and 150 musicians it’ll be quite a day. The route starts at 12pm at Denfert Rochereau and finishes at around 5pm at Bastille but we’re pretty sure the party will go on most of the night. Get in touch if you’d like help making travel and hotel arrangements
Our Website of the Month: Kit Heath Jewellery Amnesty… brilliant idea. Donate old silver jewellery to Save the Children. This silver can be broken chains, squashed rings, odd earrings, tarnished pieces, unwanted styles or unwanted gifts. We know there are hoards of old silver out there waiting to be put to a good use. The silver will be sold as scrap and the monies received donated directly to Save the Children. A great idea and has us scurrying to our jewellery boxes.
BUY
Art from Graham and Brown that reminds you of your holiday … Venice perhaps
Kids’ stuff with edge- we love the Joe Strummer stuff from Nippaz With Attitude but the good news is they do this in adult sizes too and having seen Paul Simenon (one for the oldies there) recently we’re really tempted.
EAT
Say it with biscuits…. Instead of a card how about a biscuit? We’re partial to the flowers you can buy from Biscuiteers
Seed to plate is determined to help you grow what you eat. They’ve come up with some user-friendly growing kits, including window-boxes of leaves and tin pots of herbs. No outdoor space required.
