What’s happening in London this July?
‘St. Swithin’s day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St. Swithin’s day if thou be fair
For forty days ’twill rain nae mair.’
According to lore and legend, rain on St Swithin’s Day (15th July) means there’s plenty more coming our way. No rain on St Swithin’s Day means we’ll have a delightfully dry summer. Sadly (in the case of the sun), it’s never been proven true.
While we wait to find out if this is the year the St Swithin’s Day rhyme comes true, here’s what you could be doing in and around London over the coming weeks.
