4 Must-Visit Popup London Restaurants for June

Innovative and inventive chefs and business people continue to bring a variety of fantastic pop-up restaurants to London. We are huge fans of the craze, which allows chefs to showcase their talents and us to try some delicious new dishes. Here are four of our favourites this month.

Mile High

This 50s airline inspired pop-up is returning to London for the third time, taking diners to Sicily from 12th-15th and 19th-22nd June.  No passport is required to enjoy a meal of marinated swordfish in orange and cinnamon with pine nuts and fennel, pasta alla Norma, slow roasted pork belly and burnt peach gelato with pistachio praline and amaretti biscuits. A vegetarian option is also available. Don’t miss the flight – book your ticket for the £65 per head dinner now.

Unearthed – Guinness World Record Attempt

If you pay a visit to Unearthed’s pop-up on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th, not only will you be treating yourself to a great meal, you’ll also be doing your bit for Action Against Hunger and contributing to a Guinness World Record attempt. The world’s longest tasting menu will include 193 courses, one from each country in the world.  Grasshoppers from Congo, birds’ milk from Romania and durian from Malaysia are just a few of the bite-sized delicacies on offer. The first batch of tickets has already sold out so you will need to be quick to grab one of the second wave, which will be released during the week of the event.

Chef’s Playground

The Shop NW10 will play host to the latest popup from Chef’s Playground. Tom Catley, formerly of Nobu and Rick Stein, will be chef on 11th and 12th June,  serving seven courses of Thai food to diners before Josh Katz takes over for the second phase on 18th and 19th, offering a variety of traditional Middle eastern dishes. Email chefsplayground@london.com for tickets. Be warned – this won’t be a fine dining experience, The Shop is all about the food and the flavour, serving cocktails in jam jars is par for the course.

Kitchen Party

Describing itself as “an ever-changing orgy of drinking, dining and weird culture”, Kitchen Party has taken over three floors in Clerkenwell. The idea behind the pop-up is to allow as many chefs and entrepreneurs as possible to work under one roof, offering up to five different dining experiences at any one time.  The mind-blowing experiences available include sipping gin cocktails from a wandering cocktail bar, taking part in a cooking workshop involving explosives and dining 1920s Russia-style.
