Art for art’s sake

I’ve had a bit of a cultural weekend. I went to The Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh to renew my acquaintance with one of my favourite paintings “Una and the Lion” and to visit the exhibition of New Works. I’ve now got a print of a photograph by Anthony Schrag called “Be Brave”
While I was there I found out two things
1. You can become Friend of the RSA
2. They have an “Own Art” scheme which offers the purchaser and interest free loan of up to £2000 (minimum of £100) for the purchase of works by living artists, repayable in 10 monthly instalments. Or you can pay a deposit and bring the monthly payment down even further.
Now I’ll have to go back with my “shopping head” on.
