BFI London Film Festival 2013 – Our Highlights

The 57th annual BFI London Film Festival will launch on Wednesday 9th October, bringing a varied selection of mainstream and indie films to the South Bank. Quite a few of the screenings, workshops and talks are already sold out, so act quickly if you’d like to take in a film or two.

Whether you want to enjoy a film or attend a masterclass or talk with an industry expert, there is plenty on the schedule to keep you entertained. Some highlights include a masterclass on the work behind the scenes on Gravity from Alfonso Cuarón and Tim Webber , Captain Phillips’ Barry Ackroyd speaking about his latest work and solo piano performances from composer Michael Nyman.

If your interest in the festival is more about the films themselves, how about a red carpet experience at one of the Gala Screenings? While the opening night showing of Captain Phillips and the closing night screening of Saving Mr Banks are already sold out, tickets are still available for most other Gala screenings, including Philomena with Judi Dench and Steve Coogan, Labor Day, Ralph Fiennes’ The Invisible Woman, The Epic of Everest and Foosball 3D

The full listing of films due to be screened at the festival can be found on the event’s website, alongside a schedule including details of all talks, screentalks, master classes and more.

If you do make it along to an event or two during the BFI London Film Festival, remember to come back and tell us all about it!
