Fabulous UK Hotels – New for 2013
You don’t need to travel abroad to have a great holiday; whether you are looking for culture, history, nature or nightlife, there is somewhere in the UK perfect for your needs. We will, however, admit that you may well struggle to find sun! If you do decide to holiday at home in 2013, these new and coming-soon hotels are definitely worth a spot on your shortlist.
The old Berners Hotel, just off Oxford Street, is to become a hotel once more with the arrival of Edition London in 2013. The 193-bedroom hotel will be operated by Marriott International under the Edition brand, following in the footsteps of the existing Istanbul Edition. Ian Schrager, who previously worked on the Sanderson and Studio 54, is in charge of the design, which promises to be something very special indeed. Edition Hotel does not have a confirmed opening date as yet, but is expected to launch during the next few months.
10 Berners Street, London, W1T 3NP
Described as “the culmination of many lovingly-made choices”, this 18th century manor house, set in four hundred acres of gardens, is set to be an incredibly relaxing holiday destination. With a working farm in the grounds, the food served in the sixty-bedroom hotel could not possible be any more locally-sourced. Guests can choose between staying in the main building, stables or the walled gardens, each of which will be just as luxurious and calming as the last. Heckfield Place is due to open in Spring 2013.

Lord Crewe Arms, Northumberland
One to keep an eye on for later in the year, the Lord Crewe Arms on the Northumberland/Durham border looks likely to open in late August. An expert crew are currently working to refurbish the Grade II listed building, with a view to launching a high-quality country hotel. With the re-launch seeing it take the titles of both the newest and oldest hotel in the area, the Lord Crewe Arms promises great food and drink and comfortable rooms. If the other Calcot Hotels venues are anything to go by, this one will be well worth the wait!

If you are far too impatient to wait a few months for a new hotel to open and want to travel now, a break in La Suite West in London could be just the ticket. Originally a row of Victorian townhouses in West London, La Suite West has been transformed into a contemporary, minimalist, Asian-themed hotel which is perfect for both business and leisure travel. Black wooden shutters, individually crafted beds, flat-screen televisions and private garden terraces are just a selection of what is on offer to guests in the suites.
