For a Very Limited Time – November’s London Pop-ups

BY cushion the impact

The explosive celebrations of Bonfire Night have now passed but that doesn’t mean that the rest of month is destined to be a damp squib. December is likely to be a blur of parties and festive events for many of us, so why not get yourself warmed up at one or two of these temporary bars and restaurants? Don’t give in to the dark, cold nights just yet!

The Fat Bear

The Sun & 13 Cantons in Soho is home to this American-themed pop-up until 29th November. The menu features dishes from numerous regions of the States; from New Orleans Cajun Gumbo to New England clam chowder via the fish tacos of the deep South-West. If fried crawfish popcorn, spicy crawfish and sriracha mac & cheese, roast duck gumbo and baby spinach salad accompanied by American craft beers and bourbons sound like a great way to spend an evening, make sure you don’t miss out on The Fat Bear. Reservations are not essential but are strongly recommended.

The Cider Box: Republic of Somerset

A rooftop restaurant in London in November may seem like insanity but we can guarantee you’ll have a blast at this one-night-only pop-up. The rooftop of the Queen of Hoxton is hosting the party on Saturday 16th November as The Cider Box sets up shop in the tipi. Pulled pork, live acoustic music, games, crafts, toasted marshmallows and over thirty varieties of cider will be the order of the day when the hottest cold night gets into full swing.  Entry to the event is free before 8pm.

Night Tales

The former Abbott Street Car Park will be home to this six-week project from November 7th. Night Tales welcomes guests into the bunker, where they will be educated about the best bits of London’s food and culture. Fine food, experimental bar culture and nightlife is how the project is described by the organisers and it sounds like they are spot on! Ribs, pulled pork, gourmet burgers, steamed pork buns and gyoza all feature on the menu alongside an array of fantastic cocktails.

The East End Cabaret Club

Fancy some musical comedy to brighten up a dreary winter’s evening? Take yourself along to The East End Cabaret Club’s performances at The Russet throughout November and December. On 23rd November and 7th December for cabaret, alternative comedy and a drink or two. Tickets are now available online.
