Good Things Can’t Last Forever – London’s June Pop-ups

Another month has begun and that means another spate of pop-ups have appeared throughout London. If you’re planning a day or night out this month, don’t forget to check out these temporary venues – you won’t be disappointed!

Simon Drake’s Midsummer Madness

On Saturday 28th June, Simon Drake’s House of Magic will be entertaining guests in a secret London location, treating them to tours of the Haunted Cellar, fortune telling on the Whispering Chair, a two course meal and plenty of magic, wonder and dancing. The 200 year old mansion is waiting to be explored, but you can’t find out where it is until you buy your ticket… So, what are you waiting for?

Peter’s & Co. Gin Palace

From now until the end of July, Cooke’s Pie N’ Mash Shop in Broadway Market is playing host to Peter’s & Co. Gin Palace. We know, it’s not where we’d expect to find a gin palace either! Take your pick from the selection of gin-based cocktails, then try some of the food boards featuring cheeses, charcuterie and puddings. If you’re interested, there will also be some master classes and tasting sessions. Peter’s is open from Thursday to Saturday, 7pm to 1am.

The Fat Bear Beefsteak Bacchanalia

This is definitely one to visit with friends you know well and are very comfortable eating in front of. Running once a fortnight until 6th July, the Beefsteak Bacchanalia involves mountains of the finest sliced beef, dipped into butter and eaten using fingers. No cutlery, no crockery – just outstanding food and possibly a messy shirt. Two levels of ticket are available, both including unlimited beer and one adding bottomless red wine. A cash bar will also operate during the event.

Alaskan Gold Rush

On 21st June, Pimlico Gardens will be transformed into an Alaskan Gold Rush, promising fun, frolics and untold wealth to families who visit. One of those is a big fib, by the way… Children and adults are all invited , the schedule includes storytelling, music, searching for gold and treasure, ferret racing and, of course, delicious Alaskan seafood. An adults-only evening event, featuring considerably more alcohol, will allow those who would rather not share the experience with children to take part too.
