Important Dates for your April Diary
March ended with a flurry of activity as we had the Vernal Equinox, Easter and the start of Daylight Savings Time all happening in little over a week. The start of April doesn’t mean an end to all the excitement; make sure to add these important dates to your diary so you don’t miss out. The events themselves won’t take place for another few months but participants need to act now.
Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
This year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition will run from 10th June until 18th August. During this time, a range of audio-visual, watercolour, sculpture and other artworks will be on display in the Royal Academy of Arts. Artists who have submitted entries should note that the delivery dates are 8th and 9th April for glazed works, 10th and 11th April for unglazed works, 1st May for sculpture and 2nd May for architecture. Artists will all be informed of the panel’s decision by the end of May.
If you missed the general entry for the Virgin Active London Triathlon in August, don’t despair. You can still enter either as part of a team or by taking up one of the charity places. A full list of charities which still have available places can be found on the London Triathlon website and there are plenty of them still looking for representation. If you don’t manage or want to take up a charity spot, entering the Triathlon relay as part of a team of three is another great way to take part and have fun. Rather than doing the full Triathlon alone, the relay involves teams of one runner, one swimmer and one cyclist, making it a great way to get started with triathlons or focus purely on what you are really good at.
