If you want to head to the slopes abroad? We have always found Snowfinders to be very knowledgeable and helpful but we also have contacts with other companies we know and like if you would prefer us to ask us to do the research for you.

DO

You want to able to converse with the local people more fluently when you’re on holiday this year? Then perhaps a language class would help. Cactus  is a great way to find a class near you and at the level you need.

Get out and meet people and learn a new skill. The Make Lounge in North London offers craft workshops, hen parties, and children’s events. Subjects cover making purses, soaps, decorating, book binding, making a kimono…lots more to choose from.

Artist David Hockney’s new exhibition of startling and absorbing landscapes at the Royal Academy in London

More than 100 of Lucian Freud’s portraits, covering seven decades of work, from the early 1940s until the artist’s death in July 2011 are being shown at the National Portrait Gallery  opening 9 February.

And if that isn’t enough art for you in London, Tate Britain’s new exhibition starting on 15 February,  Picasso and Modern British Art explores the Spanish artist’s reputation in Britain, and looks at how Picasso’s work affected British modernism and inspired British artists.

If you read and enjoyed the stunning book Lanark then visit author Alasdair Gray’s exhibit at Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art

 Go a bit further afield to Bristol and enjoy the great food at Ronnies of Thornbury  or the sister restaurant The Muset in Clifton

At the best French Restaurant in Glasgow. Brian Maule at Chardon d’Or  is wonderful. We’re planning on a lunch soon. Great food and great value
