This unique app will send a message out to all local cabbies. You will be notified once one accepts the job and is on their way offering you full driver details such as registration number and name – perfect for the safety conscious.

SEE

Tracy Emin’s Margate exhibition. The artist famously said that you can take the girl out of Margate but you can’t take Margate out of the girl and she has been true to her word by returning to exhibit in her hometown. Emin opened the Turner Contemporary in Margate in April and is now showing some of her own work there. The exhibition is running until 23 September as part of the nationwide London 2012 Festival.

While you’re in Margate, why not make a night of it and stay in The Reading Rooms ? This boutique bed & breakfast has been awarded a 5 star gold by Quality in tourism and features beautiful hand-carved beds, roll tops baths and walk in showers.  Far more luxurious than you would expect a bed & breakfast to be, The Reading Rooms makes a night by the sea a proper treat.

If the Lake District is more your thing, head straight for Aphrodite’s. This amazing boutique hotel features a number of themed rooms, including a James Bond room, Cleopatra’s Suite and Hot Tub, the Aphrodite Lodge and Hot Tub and the Snow Queen room. Aside from the fantastically decorated rooms, the hotel has a new spa and pool, ideal for some much-needed relaxation

Regents Park Open Air Theatre is now open and welcoming patrons to come and watch this unique open air stage. The two productions set to be very popular this year are Ragtime and A Midsummer Nights Dream. Booking ahead is advisable and if the performance is cancelled or abandoned due to bad weather you will receive an exchange for another day.

Afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason. Meat lovers in London will love Rodizio Rico, a Brazilian churrascaria de rodizo. What that means is that servers walk around the restaurant with a selection of barbecued meats, serving you at your seat. Diners can help themselves to an impressive array of traditional Brazilian dishes and fresh salads from the buffet bar. Eating like this is a great way to try new dishes, particularly for those who always want a bit of everything on the menu!
