Need Some Last Minute Valentine’s Ideas?

BY cushion the impact

With just two days to go, you’re cutting it very fine but, as usual, we are full of great ideas. Whether you are looking for a gift, an experience or somewhere to go for the evening, we’ve got something for you.

If none of these suggestions are quite what you’re looking for, we would be delighted to provide a more bespoke service. Just get in touch, give us some basic information and we will find the perfect present to delight your beloved on the most romantic day of the year.

To avoid ending up the same situation next year, why not ask about an individual time management session with our resident expert Andrea?

Late London – City of Seduction

It’s maybe not the most romantic of events but this late night, adults only tour of the Museum of London will certainly provide an alternative to the hearts and roses of traditional Cupid-themed Valentine’s evenings. Start off with an absinthe tasting before trying life drawing, dancing your very own mating ritual and investigating the rather sordid past of our beloved London. Other activities include making love tokens, adding your message to an interactive art installation and enjoying a late night stroll around the Cheapside Hoard exhibition (which is fantastic says Andrea).  And of course, when you have fallen in love with some of the jewels, you can buy replicas in the shop. Advance booking is essential.

Simpson’s in The Strand

This fantastically elegant and classic restaurant in Covent Garden has availability for Valentine’s Day at the time of writing. Specialising in Scottish beef on the bone, carved at guests’ tables from a silver dome trolley, this former chess club is one of the most historic restaurants in London. 170 years of experience can only be a good thing! Van Gogh, George Bernard Shaw, Benjamin Disraeli and Charles Dickens have all dined here in the past; why not give your loved one the gift of being added to this rather impressive list?

Fora Restaurant

How does Turkish food and belly dancers sound to you? If it sounds like a great way to spend Valentine’s evening, book your table at Fora now. Prosecco, mixed meze starters, a selection of delicious Turkish grills, casseroles and fish dishes and a dessert platter are on the menu for loved-up diners on February 14th. Tables are available throughout the evening at the time of writing but we would advise booking immediately to avoid disappointment.

Chelsea Physic Garden Snowdrop Days

If a stroll through a snowdrop trail seems far more romantic to you than an evening in a crowded restaurant, how about a visit to Chelsea Physic Garden? Although the gardens are officially closed for the winter at the moment, they will be opened from 8th-16th February to allow guests to visit the spring extravaganza. Take a place on a guided tour, wander around the Snowdrop Trail and Snowdrop Theatre at your leisure, treat yourself or your loved one to some snowdrops of your very own and enjoy a mulled wine in the Tangerine Dream Café. The gardens will be open from 10am to 4pm during the event; tickets can be purchased online now.
