We mentioned this hotel in a previous blog back in May 2012 but it is special enough to be worthy of another mention. The Shard is at the front of Londoners’ minds at the moment as it is due to open to the public on 1st February and, when the Shangri-La Hotel opens inside the building in May, visitors will have a very luxurious place to stay too. With an indoor infinity swimming pool and health suite offering panoramic views of London, butler service in all suites and far too many luxuries to mention here, a stay in the tallest building in Western Europe will certainly be memorable.

The Fire Station, Marylebone
Although there is very little information available at the moment, plans are afoot to transform the Manchester Square Fire Station on Chiltern Street into a luxury 26-bedroom hotel. The hotel, due to open at some point this year, will be designed by New York real estate developer Andre Balazs, who has previously worked on Chateau Marmont and The Mercer . The first-ever Nobu hotel is not due to open its doors until February but owner, Nobu Matsuhisha, is already ploughing ahead with plans to open another in London. Willow Street in Shoreditch will be the location for the 143 bedroom designer hotel which, unsurprisingly, will house a Nobu restaurant in the basement. According to plans, everything about the hotel will be a statement; from the five-metre high basement restaurant to the rooms which curve around a central bathroom. Again, we will publish more information as soon as possible.
