Newsletter August 2018

What fantastic weather we have been having – although the extended high temperatures have confirmed that, as a nation, we are prone to moaning about the weather no matter what it does!

Here are a few of our recommendation on what and where to go, do, see, buy and eat in the capital this month and, as always, we have plenty more up our sleeves if you get in touch.

Making Time for You

Apart from scouring London for the best events, exhibitions, and general goings-on, we spend much of our time concentrating on what we do best – making your life easier. If you are feeling overwhelmed at work or at home, and are in need of an extra pair of hands, here are just a few examples of how we have eased the burden for various clients over the past few weeks:

  • Managing inventories and maintenance on rental properties
  • Researching what to do during a spare day on a business trip
  • Finding the ultimate holiday destination
  • Recording financial transactions for ease of future reference
  • Itineraries for house hunting

Go

To Smithfield 150, a two-day festival in late August, created to celebrate 150 years of the iconic Victorian market. The weekend has something in store for everyone – from creating your own party drinks with Company Drinks, to exploring the city’s gory past with Horrible Histories, and generally enjoying yourself at the biggest birthday party you’re like to attend this year.

Do

Get your glad rags on, don a pair of headphones, choose from the three available channels, and lip-synch the night away at the Silent Disco Show. On Friday 31st August, Udderbelly will be bringing 90s RnB, power ballads, Britpop, disco classics and current hits to Jubilee Gardens. Where else can you enjoy all of that, plus dance-offs, acrobats and live performers under one roof?

See

A wide range of circus acts and performances, as well as giving some of them a try for yourself, at the Southbank Centre’s Circus 250 Weekend. As part of a national celebration of 250 years of the circus, 18-19 August could be when you discover your inner Greatest Showman. What are you waiting for?

Buy

A great notebook that inspires you to jot down your ideas, dreams, to-do lists, and anything else that tickles your fancy. New stationery isn’t only for those going back to school, and there’s a certain pleasure that comes from writing in a brand new journal. There are, of course, countless options available, but we currently love these leather envelope-wrap ones from Aspinal of London.

Eat

A smorgasbord of deliciousness from your favourite Carnaby eateries at the one-day Carnaby Street Eat 2018 festival. There will be more outstanding food than you can shake a stick at, live music, street entertainment and, generally, everything you need to have a great day out. The event will take place on Carnaby Street on 11 August.
