Pop-up Bars and Restaurants in London – April 2015

If Easter has given you a taste for treats, we have just the thing for you. London’s pop-up scene seem particularly strong this month – just have a look at what you could be enjoying. There’s not time for dallying; pick what you want to try and get down there before it’s gone forever.

A Month of Sundaes

Happy Endings Dessert Nights are bringing an evening of desserts, in the form of a five course dessert menu, to POND Dalston each Sunday this month. Enjoy a multitude of delicious desserts inspired by world travels, springtime and fun and accompanied by aperitifs and wine. A new menu will be introduced each week.

The Oshun Café

If an array of desserts isn’t your thing (and why not?!), have a look at the Acai bowl pop-up at Shoreditch’s Oshun Café this month. The menu offers just four dishes, each a variant of the traditional Brazilian Acai bowl. Choose from the Tang bowl with sour cherries, raspberries, lime juice and honey; the Oshun Maya, which includes raw cacao, cinnamon, avocado and strawberries; the Oshun Kong with bananas, lemongrass, ginger and coriander, or the Oshun Native, which is the closest to the traditional version.

Monograph Japanese Supper Club

On 17th and 24th April, Monograph will be hosting a Japanese Supper Club in Islington, serving all manner of delights to guests. It’s the place to be for new flavours and chat with new people in an informal dining environment. The contemporary dishes making up the tasting menu include tofu with rocket and red shiso in tsuyu marinade, Udon with smoked mackerel and seaweed, and Saikyo-miso marinated salmon.

Edible Stories

Library in Piccadilly is currently running a four-week pop-up serving unique menus based on a selection of literary favourites. The themes for the four weeks are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Matilda. The menu will include themed cocktails to perfectly partner the food, of course! Email ediblestories@lib-rary.com to book.

Reverend J.W. Simpson Spirited Sermons

If you’d rather skip the food and go straight to the cocktails, this is the pop-up for you this month. The next masterclass is on 21st April, where the good Reverend will be educating his flock on the history of Cognac, how to create the flavour of pre-phylloxera Cognac and how to make the most of that flavour in cocktails.
