Popular and affordable restaurants in Edinburgh
Nothing lifts the January blues better than getting away from it all for a couple of days. Edinburgh is particularly beautiful in winter; as wrapping up against the cold makes the imposing castle, cobbled Royal Mile streets and stunning architecture feel like something straight from a Hollywood film. However, there is one problem which tends to crop up in January; we have all spent a fortune at Christmas. Luckily, you don’t need a huge budget to eat well in Edinburgh, as this collection of affordable yet high quality eateries proves.
Sitting in a café, enjoying freshly-baked pastries and leisurely sipping coffee is one of the great pleasures in life. The Manna House Bakery on Edinburgh’s Easter Road is the ideal location for an afternoon spent in this way. Fresh breads, pastries and cakes are baked in-house and served alongside locally blended coffee and TeaPigs tea. Delicious food and drink for just a few pounds, what more could you ask for?
