T in the Park Festival Checklist

It’s July and festival season is well underway once more. Although some of the big events have been cancelled this year, the iconic T in the Park in Scotland will be going ahead and partying as hard as ever. Whether you are losing your festival virginity or returning as a seasoned pro, the experience will be a lot more pleasant if you remember to bring these essentials.

Wellington Boots

You cannot have failed to notice that the British summer has been particularly dismal so far this year. While we tend to expect Mediterranean weather and feel hugely disappointed when it never arrives, 2012 has been a bigger washout than normal! A good pair of wellies is a must when attending a festival and we would definitely recommend investing in a pair this year.  Hunter makes a fantastic range of tall, short, plain and patterned boots, which will probably last longer than your festival-going habits. We particularly love the patriotic Union Jack boots designed for the Jubilee Year

Document Wallet

Before you leave home, make sure you have your festival tickets, camping passes, car park tickets or Citylink bus tickets. Store all of these, alongside your ID to make sure your youthful looks don’t fall foul of the Challenge 25 policy, inside a funky travel document holder. This  one ticks all our boxes – it’s big enough to fit everything in and pretty enough to be more than just functional! Make sure to keep your ticket flat; if the barcode is damaged and cannot be scanned, you may not be allowed in.

Travel Toiletries –

Take it from us; you will get very, very dirty! If you can’t cope with the thought of going an entire weekend without a proper shower, make sure to buy a weekend pass for Refresh. This will give you unlimited access to pamper stations, showers, hair straighteners, hair dryers, hair washing station, nail bars and more for the duration of the festival. It definitely beats being encrusted in the same mud for three days! Treat yourself to some gorgeous toiletries for the occasion – this gift set from Crabtree & Evelyn contains hand therapy, hand recovery, relaxing body wash and relaxing body lotion. It’s perfect for a spot of pampering in between your favourite acts. Little extras like hand sanitiser and Avon Skin so Soft to deter those midges will also come in very handy.

Waterproof Jacket

Those Hunters won’t be any use if the rest of you isn’t dressed appropriately! It’s time to invest in a waterproof mac as it is almost guaranteed that you will be rained on for quite a lot of the weekend. Macs don’t need to be boring – choose one with a funky pattern or bright colours and match or clash it with your wellies to create your own festival style. Whatever type you go for, make sure it has a decent-sized hood to shelter you from the cold Scottish rain.
