What You Need For a Glamping Holiday
Glamping, or glamorous camping, is here to stay and we have to admit we are very glad about that. There is no way we would be setting foot inside a freezing cold tent on a muddy campsite, but luxurious yurts, bell-tents, gypsy caravans and shepherd’s huts are another thing altogether. Last summer, we published an article about glamping and some of our favourite UK spots and now, here’s what you need for the perfect not-quite-camping break.

Glamping Essentials Checklist
Much of this is likely to be provided by the campsite but, if we’re going anywhere near one, we want to make sure it is in as much comfort as possible. And yes, we will take ridiculous amounts of luggage for a weekend away if we need to…
Here’s what we think you need for a relaxing glamping holiday:
- Warm pyjamas and, quite possibly, thermals
- Wool, sheepskin, reindeer, alpaca or any other kind of cosy woollen blanket you can think of
- Lanterns, solar powered fairy lights or similar. Something like this little lot, maybe.
- Plenty of cushions
- Cosy boot slippers (we love these Inuit ones from The White Company)
- Cocktail mixer, glasses and plenty of booze. Pack extra just in case…
- A fully-loaded Kindle, Nook or a few good books
- Teapot, china cups, cake stand and all of the ingredients for an outdoor afternoon tea. This Alice in Wonderland teapot from Whittards is fabulous! Maybe accompanied by a Moomin cake stand?
- Your favourite tea or coffee (and something to make it in)
