When Witches go Riding and Black Cats are Seen…

“When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.”

Halloween isn’t just for the children; although you may have outgrown trick or treating a few years ago, there is plenty for adults to do on the spookiest day of the year too. Dress up in your scariest costume, apply your ghoulish make up and take yourself along to one of these very grown-up Halloween events.

Halloween at the London Dungeon

Where better to spend Halloween than the creepiest place in London? With the usual array of frightful shows, a specially themed gift shop, hundreds of extra Halloween decorations and a special, spooky surprise, The Home of Halloween is the place to be. Are you brave enough to tackle the Dungeons? If so, book in advance as the venue is bound to be busy.

The Blood and Tears Walk – Halloween Special

Even if you have been on a ghostly tour of London before, you haven’t been on this one-night-only Halloween walk.  Book your tickets online as soon as possible then meet at Barbican Tube station in plenty of time for either the 7pm or 9.45pm departure. The two-hour walk will include the history of Jack the Ripper, visits to execution sites, criminal profiling exercises, plenty of dark, spooky alleyways and a psychic experiment. If you want to scare yourself silly on Thursday night, you must book online ASAP before tickets sell out. Booking will close at 2pm on 31st.

Zombie Disco

The Doodle Bar in Battersea will be home to all manners of ghouls and ghosts on Saturday 2nd November as it hosts the Zombie Disco. Guests are encouraged to don fancy dress for a night of light shows, fire breathers, lasers, photo booths and music. Not sure how to make yourself look at just the right stage of decomposition? Fear not, a make-up team will be on hand to zombify you. Tickets are now available, priced at £8.

Boo at the Zoo

If you prefer your Halloween activities to be slightly tamer, head for London Zoo before 3rd November. Discover the Curiosity Shop of Horrors, the creepy creatures in the Amphitheatre, the terrifying tigers and more. There are plenty of children’s events too, just in case you need to bring them along. There is safety in numbers after all…
